Sea Otter Bonded Pair

Sea otters will temporary pair bond for several days while they are mating.  During mating, it is not uncommon for the male otter to bite the nose of the female otter, inflicting sometimes significant injury.  It appears that his mate fought back as evidenced by the cut near his nose.
